Quick Update on Us

Munchkin:
–is seizure free… or else almost. She has a several day long in hospital EEG the first week of November.
–is playing with toys and her brother and really participating in therapy.
–is just finishing off 3 weeks of auditory processing training and starts intensive PT on Monday.
–is stinking close to walking.

Buster:
–is crawling, pulling to a stand, cruising, and TEETHING.
–is a very happy and personable dude who is TEETHING.
–is disappointed to find out that he doesn’t always get what he wants even while TEETHING.

Mommy:
–is very busy keeping the schedule straight and happening (Hubby says I’m like a soccer mom, lol)
–is still really enjoying her life in spite of how crazy it is at times.
–is still trying to finish her MA Linguistics, but it’s challenging with life being as busy as it is.

Daddy:
–is making wonderful progress on Bible Edit!
–is making good progress on projects at work.
–is the Apple of his children’s eyes.

This is going to be a quick drive-by post because my dishes are calling me, but I have been contemplating a new carrier for awhile. Up until now, my carrier choices have been dictated by Munchkin’s low muscle tone, but now, thanks to NAPA Center and all of Munchkin’s hard work, I’m ready to think about other choices. Also, I have Bubster so I almost always have someone on my back. Bubster would have no problem with a superman or a hook over to get on my back, so I think it’s time to go that route.

Anyway, I’m thinking about trying a Glory Baby Mei Tai! I love the hood and the way she has incorporated it into the design of the mei tai, both functionally and esthetically. The price is good too, especially considering that I was thinking of selling my beco butterfly I and getting the new version because I hate the hood on the old butterfly. For the price of the GBMT, I could keep the beco butterfly I as my spare, but then have the Glory Baby Mei Tai for when the kids are wanting to sleep on my back.

There is more to say, but man, those silly dishes. I’m tempting fate too… the kids are almost done with their nap and we have therapy in an hour.

All nighter… and it cannot be blamed on my kiddos

I’m a mom. I do nights sometimes. Usually it’s because I have a sick kiddo. Not tonight.

I haven’t had coffee since Miss Munchkin was a month or so and that was over two years ago. On that day, I had a DECAF coffee in the morning and she was still buzzing at 2am the next morning. I swore off the stuff. She was still nursing when I got pregnant with Bubster so I decided to not even bother having coffee during pregnancy only to have to come off of it a few months later.

Buster is now 7-1/2 months. Over the past month or two, I’ve started having iced tea from Starbucks every few days. No problems.

Today, we had to make the long drive home from Hubby’s business trip. It’s nominally a 6 hour trip if you go straight through, more like 7-1/2 with stops, but we took 9 hours with our two small children.

While I lay tossing and turning at 11:30pm, I got to thinking about what I had to drink today…

Midafternoon: Venti Iced Tea Lemonade with black tea

Dinner: Large Iced Tea at McD’s

Late evening (9pm): 3 cups of regular black tea

Given that I really haven’t had any caffeine for the past two years, it’s NO WONDER I can’t sleep.

So it’s now 3:43 and I’m still up. The upshot is I have done a couple loads of laundry and put a nice dent in my filing pile. The serious downside is my children will be awake and raring to go in just a couple of hours.

My eyes are just starting to get tired, but my body, well… it’s still going.

I think I’ll go finish cleaning. I’m really going to need a nap today.

A long overdue update to last week’s Maidin’ Monday…

So last week, I posted a to do list at 10:03am and was going to come back at 11:03am with an update. Didn’t happen. I can’t even remember what all went on, but right as I was getting started my husband called and needed me to run and do something so off I went. And then Tuesday ended up being extremely busy with Munchkin’s therapies, and then on Wednesday I found out that my hubby had a business trip this week so the end of the week ended up being crazy for that… and then THIS past week we were on the business trip with hubby…

So needless to say, I got everything on my list done, just not as quickly as I wanted to, and definitely with not enough time to post about it. Oh well. Such is life as a busy mom!

Maidin’ Mondays

Welcome to Maidin’ Monday. This is where all of us Maids who need kicks in the butlers (because we lack butlers to do everything for us) and there need to be “maid” to do it. LOL.

Participation is easy. Make a list of what you want to get done in the next hour or two (be specific) note the time, then get off your computer and go do the list. Come back at appointed time and report on how you did.

We got to go to California Adventure a few weeks ago with my sister for free since she had extra 2fer tickets! It was so much fun that we forgot to take pics of our kids’ first trip to Disney. Oh well, they were sleeping a lot of it anyway.

But we did find my mascot and it’s the perfect picture for this blog!!!!
